Christmas Fun!!

Christmas is always fun but very busy! We went to Grandma and Grandpa Burr's house and had a wonderful time. We opened really fun gifts, (Brandy and I ended up giving the exact same gift to each other),ate a lot and then of course played in the snow. Grandma has this wonderful road that is perfect for sledding. We hook up the sleds to the razor and can go for hours. After a couple of days at Grandma and Grandpa's house we went to Rexburg for family pictures with Nana and Grandpa Edwards and then a trip to the temple. The following day we did the Christmas Extravaganza, as Nana called it, where we went to Grandpa Edwards' work and played. She rented a Jumper for the kids, okay and the adults. We played volleyball, kickball, dodge ball, did crafts, had a tea party and ate. The eating part of the holiday's is always necessary. It too was a fun gift exchange. It was a wonderful holiday and fun getting together with family.

Christmas was fun with the kids this year. Brayden asked for a Wii. Jaycie asked for a Kitchen. Good thing Santa and Mrs. Claus have wanted a wii for a couple years now or that might not have happened. Nick insisted that Santa bring Guitar Hero. On Christmas Eve Santa and Mrs. Claus stayed up until 12:00 trying out the game. (Well, it has to be working when the kids wake up). It was a great year. Nick unfortunately had to work on Christmas but luckily work allowed him to spend many hours in and out of the house.

The Christmas Extravaganza pictures are going to have to be posted later. They are on Aubrey's camera.

Happy Anniversary!

Nick and I have been married 7 years now. They have been a wonderful 7 years, he makes marriage amazing and easy. He gave me the most wonderful gift I have ever received. There is a little story behind it so bear with me. Since Thanksgiving I have been missing my wedding ring. I looked and looked and looked for three weeks and couldn't find it. I gutted the kids rooms, tore apart my bedroom (with my mothers help), searched the vacuum bag with no luck. I was very upset and Nick was too. Every time I asked him to help me look for it he continued to be mad and say no I don't support the fact that you lost it. After the house was immaculate he gave me until February to find it and then he was going to buy me a new one. Well the day before out anniversary we were at my moms house for her Christmas party and he brings me over a jewelry bag. My first thoughts were, Oh, great I didn't want a new ring, I want my own. Well I opened it up and it was MY RING! He had the broken pieces fixed and then added a wedding band to it. IT IS BEAUTIFUL. I both cried and called him a BUTT numerous times. No wonder he wouldn't help me dig through the vacuum bag. It was a wonderful day and gift.

I love you Nick, I look forward to the next many years together.

Happy Birthday Jaycie!

Jaycie turned 3 on December 11Th! It has been fun watching her grow up. She is so sweet yet so sour at the same time. She loves her brother and wants to be just like him. In fact when it is time to get her pajamas on she chooses Brayden's super heroes over her girly pj's any day. She is our little entertainer and mother hen. We love you Jaycie.

This is Jaycie eating the gift from Grandpa Burr. There is history behind the cucumber. SHE LOVES THEM!!!

For some strange reason we lost all the other pictures of her birthday.

Three things about Jaycie that we love!

1. Jaycie is loving and friendly. She is so outgoing, she will talk to anyone and loves giving hugs and kisses to others. Most of her friends get annoyed of her touchiness but we love it.

2. Jaycie is very entertaining. She loves to preform in front of others. She shows her moves as often as she can. Man can she dance!

3. Jaycie is Jaycie. For those of you that know her personally, you know exactly what I mean. She is wonderful!

We love you Jaycie Happy 3rd Year.

Family Pictures 2009!

This was a fun year to get pictures. Brayden is at that awkward can't smile naturally age. We were laughing so hard at half his faces. The only way were were able to get him to smile real is by having him say Uncle AJ and Grandma. It was fun to see Jaycie pose for all of her pics.

Hunting Trip 2009!

This is the second year Nick has taken Brayden hunting, they love it. They went with the Wakley's, Jesse and Kaden. This year they took their trailers instead of a tent so that they could stay a little warmer. The trailers were already winterized so they still had to rough it. They didn't end up getting anything, but had a fun time anyway.

Just trying to stay warm.

This is the mud hole they got stuck in. Nick had to hook the wench around two sage brush to get out. Apparently it was pretty stinky.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Jaycie really hates Halloween. She hates masks, spiders, and anything else that is remotely scary. She always has, even when she was just a baby she hated it when I put Halloween decorations up. This Halloween was no different. It was the start of October so I decided it was time to put up my Halloween decorations. I went down stairs to pull out the Halloween bin. I opened the lid and Jaycie freaked. She ran up the stairs and wouldn't go back downstairs by herself for the longest time. So needless to say, we didn't put any up this year. We were lucky she wanted a costume. She wouldn't even go down the costume aisles in the stores without a death grip on my leg. Brayden on the other had loves it. What better time to dress up and become a superhero. He dresses up on a regular basis so it is nothing new to him.

Here are a few pictures of Brayden's school costume parade, our pumpkin carving, and Halloween.

Nothing too creative this year. At least it wasn't the throwing up pumpkin that we have had in the past.

Happy Birthday Brayden!!

Brayden turned 5! It is amazing how fast time flies. He has been counting down the days until his brithday for a long time now. He had a Birthday Party on Saturday with all of his friends and family. We rented a Jumper and had a Storm Trooper come to visit. He thought that Storm Trooper was the coolest thing. Even after his party he knew he wasn't officially 5 yet until the 21st. It was the cutest thing, at 3:00 in the morning on the 21st I get woke up with Brayden tapping me on the shoulder.
Brayden: Mom, mom, am I 5 yet?
Mom: No Brayden you need to go back to sleep you aren't 5 until 6:00.
Brayden: Okay goodnight (and ran back into his room and went to sleep)

He didn't wake up again until 7:00 and when he did he asked dad if he was 5 yet and Nick said yes you are now officially 5. So Brayden stands up, stretches looks down (as if to check his hieght) and says yep I guess I am. So fun!!

FIVE THINGS I LOVE ABOUT BRAYDEN!!

1. He has such a sweet heart. He truly is concerned for others and thinks about others often.

2. He is a true friend. He wants to make others happy and is always so willing to give extra hugs and kisses when they need them. He also defends others when he sees they are in need.

3. He loves to learn. Brayden is always asking questions about new things and he wants to know everything about everything. He doesn't stop until he understands what he is curious about.

4. He is fun! Brayden loves to have a good time. He gets so excited about everything.

5. He has a wonderful smile and is always happy. He makes everyone happy when he is around them.

SWAT TRAINING 2009

Nick has been extremely busy for about a year now, planning a training for the SWAT team. Finally the day came and everything went well. The SWAT team traveled to Boise (Gowen Field) to play (I mean train) cops and robers. They shot fake bad guys, invaded houses, and rode in a helicopter. Here are some pictures of the grand adventure.

A Day of Golf!!

Brayden and Nick joined Zach and Shawn for a day of golf in Idaho Falls. The highlight was watching Shawn get his only "Birdie" of the day, but not the kind your thinking...

Shortly after Shawn hit the ball he began to yell and scream "It's attacking me!!" Nick turned to see why he was yelling to find a small black bird attacking Shawn's legs and arms. The bird then flew circles around him three or four times before turning "Kamikaze" style right at him. Shawn, with his 9 iron in hand, swung and knocked the bird to the ground, the only birdie all day! Those who say golf is a boring sport don't know what they are talking about.

BACK TO SCHOOL!

Summer is over and now fall sets in. I love it when the new school year starts. This year was a little bit different for me because I too got to go back to school. Nick and I decided it was a good time for me to go back to work. I got a job teaching at an Elementary school in the 5th grade. I was nervous but excited at the same time. It has been a definite change of pace. I am both loving it and hating it. I miss being home with the kids but Nick is an awesome stay at home dad. He went back to the street after 3 years in the schools and is loving every minute being a "real" cop again. His schedule has worked out great for him to take care of the kids while I am at work. He cooks dinner, does laundry, cleans the house and amazingly does Jaycie's hair. In fact the other day he really showed his true colors when he got excited about finding a ponytail on the ground. I really appreciate how wonderful he is.
Brayden also went back to school for his second year of preschool. He was way excited. Jaycie can't figure out why it is not her turn yet. She has to wait until next year for chance to go to school. But she needed pictures taken all the same.

Happy Fourth!!

We went to Star Valley for the 4th of July and had a great time. Every year at Star Valley Ranch they do a golf cart parade and games at the park. This was the first year we were able to make it. Nick had this fabulous idea to decorate the golf cart as a tank. We were all a little skeptical but it turned out really cute. Here are a few pictures of the 4th of July at Grandma and Grandpa Burr's.

Getting this amazing float to the parade.

Parade coming down the hill. Our tank ended up winning the most patriotic award!! Go BURR's

Jaycie and Keira getting ready to race. This ended up not even being a running race but they were sure ready. Even when the lady tried to tell Jaycie she was going to hop in a bag instead she kept her position to run the whole time. It was hilarious watching the lady try to move her to a new position while in the running position.

The boys in their gunny sack race. They ended up taking first and second good for you boys.

The long awaited train ride.
